Questions, answered
Do my guests need to download an app?
No. Guests scan the QR code with their phone camera and the menu opens in the browser. It loads fast even on weak Wi-Fi, and keeps working if the connection drops.
How long does it take to set up?
Most restaurants go live in 10 to 20 minutes. Import your existing website or PDF (Pro), review the few items we flag, pick a theme and publish. Starting from scratch takes a little longer for long menus.
Can I import a scanned or photographed menu?
Yes. Text PDFs are read directly, and scanned pages are read by an AI vision model. Before using credits on scanned pages we show you the cost and ask for approval. Anything we’re unsure about is flagged for review.
Will AI make up ingredients or allergens?
Never. Dishfolio doesn’t infer allergens or dietary claims. Allergen notes found in your menu are kept for you to confirm, and translations of claims like “vegan” or “contains nuts” are always marked for a human review.
What happens to my QR codes if I change the menu?
Nothing. Your QR codes always point to the latest published version, so you can update prices, dishes or the whole design without reprinting.
What if I cancel or downgrade?
Nothing is deleted. Menus above your new plan’s limit stay online in read-only mode, and upgrading again unlocks them instantly.
Do you track my guests?
No cookies, no advertising trackers and no personal data. Analytics use anonymous, daily-rotating identifiers, and we honor Do-Not-Track and Global Privacy Control.
Can guests pay through Dishfolio?
Not yet. Table ordering sends the order to your team, and guests pay at the table or counter as usual.
